Investigation into Ayodhya Ram Temple donation irregularities intensifies
Police have recovered sensitive documents related to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust from the primary accused in a donation theft case. Local political leaders have urged patience as the Special Investigation Team continues its probe into the financial activities of the accused.
The investigation into the alleged theft of donations and financial irregularities concerning the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has reached a critical juncture. According to India Today, police have recovered a file containing sensitive documents related to the Trust during the custodial interrogation of the primary accused, Ramshankar Yadav, also known as Tinnu Yadav. These records reportedly include details regarding land acquisitions for the temple complex and compensation documentation.

Investigators are currently scrutinizing how these documents came into the possession of the accused, who reportedly held no formal position within the Trust but allegedly exerted influence through proximity to senior functionaries. The probe has expanded to include the financial activities of a firm registered in the name of Yadav's wife, Saundarya Construction and Supplier. Authorities are examining the firm's GST filings, bank accounts, and turnover to determine if any diverted funds were routed through the entity to establish a veneer of legitimacy. While police have not issued a formal confirmation regarding the diversion of funds, the ongoing financial audit remains a central component of the case.
In the wake of these developments, a delegation of local representatives, including five MLAs from the Ayodhya district and the city's mayor, held a meeting with the former general secretary of the Trust, Champat Rai. The meeting, which took place at the Teerth Kshetra Bhawan, served as a platform for local leaders to express their stance on the unfolding situation. Following the discussion, the representatives emphasized that the Special Investigation Team is currently conducting a thorough probe and cautioned against drawing premature conclusions before the investigation reaches its final stages.
The case has drawn significant attention due to the high-profile nature of the institution involved. As the legal process continues, the focus remains on the findings of the Special Investigation Team, which is tasked with determining the extent of the alleged irregularities and identifying any individuals involved in the mismanagement of donations. The outcome of this investigation is expected to have broader implications for the administrative oversight of the temple complex and the transparency of its financial operations.
